A joint venture – Telangana Institute of Driving Education and Skills (TIDES), set up under the 12th Plan, between Ministry of Road Transport and Highways-New Delhi, Government of Telangana and Ashok Leyland Ltd.
The facility is designed with five well-equipped classrooms featuring audio-visual aids, accommodating up to 180 students. It is secured with 24x7 CCTV surveillance, round-the-clock security, and a safe, inclusive environment for Women individuals.
In campus residential accommodation for 180 students has also been set up to enable students from far off locations to attend the training programs. This facility is built with the objective of bringing out professionally trained Drivers for the Road Transport sector. Institute follows ISO Practices which ensures standards in quality
Spread over an area of 20 acres, this Institute for Driver Training and Research (IDTR) is equipped with all necessary facilities for commercial vehicle driver training like state of the Art driver training simulators for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) & Light Motor Vehicles LMV).
Objective
- To Conduct induction training course in driving of Heavy Motor Vehicles.
- To Conduct induction training course in driving of Light Motor Vehicles.
- To Conduct refresher courses to keep drivers updated on new regulations, safety practices, and technology.
- To conduct training course for the drivers who carry dangerous/hazardous goods.
- To conduct Road Safety Awareness campaigns for school children and other vulnerable groups, aiming to reduce road accidents and promote safe driving practices..
- Organize recruitment drives and job melas to connect trained drivers with potential employers.
- Conduct specialized training programs to encourage women and transgender individuals to take up driving as a profession.
- Incorporate technology and simulators for advanced training.
- Continuously improve training methods and facilities to stay aligned with the evolving needs of the transportation industry.
